TEC Chapter 30A and TAC 19 subchapter 70 establish requirements for courses approved by the Texas Education Agency for inclusion in a TxVSN online school’s program. As a result, each TxVSN online schools’ courses are reviewed for alignment to state curriculum standards, national standards for quality online courses, and for the TxVSN accessibility guidelines prior to being included in its program. A Texas public school district or open-enrollment charter school may apply to the Commissioner of Education for a waiver of the course review requirement if the school district or charter school certifies that the course requirements are met. These courses have the designation of Provider-Certified.
